The Transport Insurance covers insurance for cargo, the means of transportation and forwarding agents.
For the cargo insurance we differ between the cargo insurance for the cargo owner and the liability insurance for the carrier. Is the transport conducted within Poland, then the transportation bill and the civil code apply to transport conditions and responsibilities. For international transport the Convention on the contract for the international carriage of goods by road (CMR) applies. A special case is the domestic transport by a Polish carrier in another country. Here, insurance coverage maz be obtained by the cabotage insurance.
