Property Insurance

Property Insurance Proffman_1.jpgProperty insurance provides protection against most risks to property, such as fire, theft and some weather damage. This includes specialized forms of insurance such as fire insurance, flood insurance, earthquake insurance, home insurance or boiler insurance. Property is insured in two main ways - open perils and named perils. Open perils cover all the causes of loss not specifically excluded in the policy. Named perils require the actual cause of loss to be listed in the policy for insurance to be provided.

Liability Insurance

Liability_Insurance_Proffman1.jpgLiability insurance is designed to offer specific protection against third party claims, i.e., payment is not typically made to the insured, but rather to someone suffering loss who is not a party to the insurance contract. In general, damage caused intentionally and contractual liability are not covered under liability insurance policies.

Trade Credit Risk Insurance

Credit_Trade_Risk_Insurance.jpgCredit insurance or trade credit risk insurance (also known as business credit insurance) is an insurance policy and risk management product that covers the payment risk resulting from the delivery of goods or services. Credit insurance usually covers a portfolio of buyers and pays an agreed percentage of an invoice or receivable that remains unpaid as a result of protracted default, insolvency or bankruptcy. Trade credit insurance is purchased by business entities to insure their accounts receivable from loss due to the insolvency of the debtors.

Construction Insurance

construction_insurance_Proffman.jpgBuildings are subject to many different risks while under construction. They may catch fire, be damaged by high winds, or fall victim to other force majeure. A principle of common law is that any new construction or other improvement to land becomes property of the owner of the land - the title holder - once there has been an "improvement" to the owner's site. The general contractor may be responsible for any losses caused by his own negligence, but the owner is responsible for most other losses. Construction insurance indemnifies against some of these losses.

Transport Insurance

Truck_Insurance_Proffman1.jpg The Transport Insurance covers insurance for cargo, the means of transportation and forwarding agents.
For the cargo insurance we differ between the cargo insurance for the cargo owner and the liability insurance for the carrier. Is the transport conducted within Poland, then the transportation bill and the civil code apply to transport conditions and responsibilities. For international transport the Convention on the contract for the international carriage of goods by road (CMR) applies. A special case is the domestic transport by a Polish carrier in another country. Here, insurance coverage maz be obtained by the cabotage insurance.

Personnel Insurance

Liability_Insurance_Proffman.jpgPersonnel insurance for companies cover life and accident insurance for their staff to prime conditions resulting from volume discounts and specific layout. Life insurance is a contract between the policy owner and the insurer, where the insurer agrees to pay a sum of money upon the occurrence of the insured individual's or individuals' death or other event, such as terminal illness or critical illness.

Medical Insurance

Medical_Insurance.jpgMedical Insurance may be purchased on a group basis (e.g., by a firm to cover its employees) or purchased by individuals. In each case, the covered groups or individuals pay premiums to help protect themselves from high or unexpected healthcare expenses, which are for whatsoever reason not covered by the National Health Insurance System.
